Sonic’s monster hunters part 1

Sonic opened one eye. Sunlight was flooding in though his open window. He swung himself around, jumped out of bed and looked around. He saw the old wardrobe in one corner, his item chest on the other wall and the bed he stood next to. He went over to the chest and took out his armour and knife. His armour was just a set of cheap leather armour and a leather cap with a shield made of scales. Nothing heavy or fancy but he didn’t mind. His knife was a small iron blade with a bone handle. Small but effective. He walked out the door and down the street. As he passed the market he had a quick look around. A few shops sold weapons and armour. Some had facilities to upgrade a weapon but most had basic survival things, supplies and a few more specialized, if more expensive, items for traps and the like.

Soon he came to the house on the end. He knocked on the door and waited. As it opened he was met with Amy’s smiling face. She invited him for breakfast. After they had finished they started to talk.

Amy: sonic. Can you teach me to be a hunter?
Sonic: I’m not sure. Its dangerous work and I wouldn’t want you to get hurt.
Amy: please. I mean I won’t be alone because you’ll be there.
Sonic: alright. Come on. Let’s get you some armour.
Amy: thanks.
She leant across the table and kissed him.

Together they went out into the market. After browsing the shops Amy took her new armour back to the house, put it on and went back to sonic. It looked the same as sonic’s except it was dyed red and had a plate of metal over her breasts and a metal plated skirt. Then they went over to the notice board. They picked out a mission to go and slay 3 ioprey. These are dinosaurs that look like large lizards. Their fangs have special sacs in them that contain a paralyzing toxin. They then eat their prey whole. However their scales are renowned for making high quality armour and the fangs and sacs are used in weapons. A group of them were seen in the forest and were moving towards the town.

Out in the forest they started the mission. First, however, sonic taught Amy some basic survival skills. Things like cooking on an open fire and what things were safe to eat in the jungle. After that they came across the ioprey eating some dead thing in a nearby cave. They ducked down behind a rock for cover. Sonic picked up a rock and then threw it at the ioprey to get ones attention. Instead of that happening it turned around just in time. The rock hit it right in the temple and killed it outright. The other 2 noticed this however and charged at them. One jumped on sonic and he could barely keep its fangs away from him. The other jumped at Amy but soon found its self plastered to the cave wall by Amy’s hammer. She then did the same to the other one. After sonic had recovered his breath he took the fangs and a few bags full of scales back with him to sell. Before they went back to the town they went to the top of a nearby cliff and sat down to watch the sunset. As it fell below the horizon they pulled each other together and kissed again. Then they made their way back home. Amy knew she still had a long way to go to become a top rate hunter but she knew that as long as she had sonic to help her she could do it.  

As they walked back to the town, however, they were attacked by another ioprey. Except this one was bigger and was red. They killed it but not before it had bitten Amy on the arm. As she stood there she started to sway and then she fell over. Sonic ran over to her and found she had a temperature. He thought the ioprey that bit her must have had some kind of poison instead of the paralyzing toxins. He picked her up and carried her back to her house. There he put her in her bed and went out into the market. He bought a poison antidote and a sheet of fine cloth. He gave her the antidote and wrapped her in the cloth. Then he lay down next to her and fell asleep with her.
