Myth wars part 2

It took a couple of hours and a lot of water but the fire was eventually brought under control. While the damage was bad, it could have been a lot worse. Soon after the fire, everyone was celebrating the town square. Everyone except sonic and Amy.

“What do you think caused the fire?” Amy asked
“I’m not sure. But it may have something to do with this” sonic said and held out his hand. He was holding something long, thin and sharp.
“A dragon’s tooth” said Amy quietly
“Yeah, I found it in the square while fighting the fire. It may be new or it may be old”
“So what do we do?”
“There’s a Spartan war camp a few days travel from here. I’ll go ask them if there have been any other accidents like this any where else and if they’ve seen the dragon, if that’s what it really is”
“When do we leave?”
“Amy, I’d rather you stay behind. This may be dangerous”
“I know but if you don’t come back then I’ll never know what happened to you, I want to be with you forever”
“If you’re sure, we could always just sneak off now” sonic suggested.
Amy nodded. The pair of them quietly crept around the edge of the square and out of town. Charmy saw them leaving and shot off after them, not wanting to miss out on an adventure. What they didn’t realize that they were also being watched by three other people at the same time. On top of the building opposite them, a man with a dark cloak watched them with a slight smile before fading into the darkness, in the shadows at the base of the same building another figure stood gazing after them before walking though the square as if no one could see them, which no one could. The last one was standing next to the exit of the square as they walked past. He turned around with a flash of green and set of after them at a safe distance.

After a few hours walking though the dense forest, and at least a hundred of “are we there yet” from charmy, the three of them realized that they were completely lost. After a few more hours walking they stopped to have a rest. As they sat around the base of a tree they heard something rustle in the bushes nearby. Then the bushes started to shake. Amy grabbed hold of Sonics arm and sonic raised his sword ready for a fight. Then someone burst though the bush. He was wearing a black top and trousers with thick black boots. He had a long-sword in one hand and had a shield with the Spartan symbol emblazoned on the front strapped to his other arm. Then he spoke.
“Are you sonic?” he asked
“Yeah, how’d you know my name”
”some guy showed up at the camp about an hour ago and said that you were coming. He told us you knew something about the dragon in the area. So the captain sent me to find you. Name’s Axl”
“Is the camp near here?” Amy asked
“About half an hour’s journey, that way” he said pointing the way he came “if you want I could guide you there, or I could go on ahead and tell the captain that you’re coming” he held his hand to shake Sonics. Sonic took it.
“We’ll be right behind you”
“Good, follow me and stick close”

After more walking they came to the edge of the forest, and were met with a barren and scorched wasteland covered in burnt tree stumps, in the distance they could see the lights from the war camp. Axl look worried.
“This wasn’t here earlier on”
“Who cares, the camps right there. Last one there’s a rotten egg” charmy shouted before he tore off across the wasteland. He was half way across when a massive pillar of flame fell from the sky right in front of him sending him flying back. As everyone looked up a massive black dragon fell and landed right in front of them with a deafening roar. At first everyone was too shocked to move but then Axl found his Spartan spirit and ran at the dragon with his sword raised. The dragon swung a claw at him and threw him back. His shield and sword fell to the floor in front of sonic. Without thinking sonic picked them up and ran at the dragon. This time however the dragon reared up and sent a jet of flame in sonic direction. Realizing what was coming, sonic raised the shield and closed his eye as the searing fire engulfed him.
