Myth wars part 1

The old wooden door creaked as sonic opened it slowly. Looking inside he found it to be almost completely dark.
“Do you see anything” Amy said from behind him.
“Nothing much, no” sonic replied. He turned to Amy.
“Are you sure you want to come with me. It could be dangerous”
“you worry too much, what’s the worst that could happen”
”I don’t know, that’s what I am worried about”
Sonic pulled out his sword and held it up in front of him as he walked in. the gem on the hilt started to give off a light that, although weak, illuminated the whole room. Nothing there. The pair of them started checking every room together.
“So, do we know what it looks like?” Amy asked.
“Vaguely. Apparently it’s small, green and scaly”
“So why’s it such a threat if it’s small?”
“Because it’s already kill off halve the live sock in the area, and all they found were the bones of the animals”

The pair of them moved upstairs. As they went across the landing any felt a hand on her shoulder. She stopped and went rigid.
“Sonic, something’s touching me” she said weakly. Sonic turned around and held up the sword. His eyes went wide with horror, but Amy thought there was something wrong with it. She chanced a look back.
“BOO”
Amy almost jumped out of her skin with fright, as sonic and charmy doubled over with laughter.
“You should see the look on your face” charmy managed to say between laughing fits.
“Yes, alright you got me. But can we get back to task at hand now/”
Sonic put his arm around her waist.
“Lighten up Ames”
Behind them they heard something growl.
“Okay charmy, jokes over” sonic said.
“Err guys, that wasn’t me” charmy replied.
All three of them turned around. A door behind them was slightly open. In the gap between the door and the frame were a pair of dull yellow eyes, watching them. As sonic slowly raised his sword, the creature let out another growl, pushed the door open and ran out. It ran past sonic, knocking him over, and ran off down the corridor.
“What was that?” sonic asked as he pulled himself up
“I don’t know. Let’s chase it and find out” charmy said as he flew off after it.
Sonic and Amy looked at each other before giving chase.

They found charmy at the top of the stairs.
“I lost it. Ah man, I lost it”
“It’s got to be here somewhere” sonic said.
Then it ran out from a shadow against a wall. Once again it pushed sonic over in it’ attempt to escape. But this time he was ready. As he went down, he threw his sword at it. The blade went though its chest causing it to stumble and fall down the stairs. They heard a series of thuds and cracks as it hit each step before stopping at the bottom. The three of them slowly went after it.

They found it at the bottom, in a broken heap. The lights that were its eyes had gone out, showing no signs of live. Sonic went over to it to pull his sword out. As it slid out, the monsters eye lit up again. It tired to hit sonic but couldn’t move because all its bones had been broken in the fall. Sonic stuck his sword back in the monster where it had entered the first time and the monster eyes went out again. He pulled it out and put it back again quickly. The monster eyes flashed and then went out.
“Weird” said charmy
“Someone pass me something sharp” sonic said, keeping his eyes on the monster.
“Here you go” charmy placed something in his hand. He was about to pull out the sword, when he realised that charmy had given him a candlestick. Charmy realized his mistake.
“Ops, sorry” he passed sonic a dagger on the nearby table. Sonic slid out his sword and quickly replaced it with the dagger. The monster eyes flashed again but then stayed black
“Job done” sonic said
“Great, now let’s go. I hate this place” Amy replied. As they went for the door Amy realized something.
“Guys, can you smell something burning”
“Now you mention, yeah I can” sonic said.
Suddenly the whole room was covered in fire.
“Everybody run” sonic shouted.
They all ran for the door. They threw them selves though it just before the burning roof caved in over the exit. Lying in the ground, the three of them looked up and saw that the whole town was covered in fire.
